Camden Methodist Church Please pray for and encourage our pastor and earthly shepherd.
Holy Father, we lift up our pastor, that You chose for Your family here. You have given him a heavy burden to look after, guide and feed Your sheep - not just one group of people, but three different groups in three different locations, with different needs and personalities! We ask that You give him strength and energy to always be there for us; to give him courage to always speak boldly the truth of Your words to guide us. Increase his passion for spreading Your words, and Your words only. As he continues to strive faithfully to carry out Your will in his life, may all of us encourage him in words and deeds so that he will not lose hope, strength or passion for glorifying You and caring for us, Your children! Let us encourage him with prayers to support him, hearts growing in Your love, words and deeds of encouragement and love. Let him know that we love and appreciate him and all his efforts to shoulder the burden of men, women and youth who struggle daily, hourly to grow and remain faithful. And that we join him in this earthly mission to glorify You, our Lord, The I AM and spread Your word as best we can. We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our savior. Amen
For thousands of years, every morning and evening Jewish people have prayed these well-known words as a way of expressing their devotion to God, they’re called the Shema. “Hear O Israel, the LORD is our God, the Lord is one, and as for you, you shall love the LORD your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
The Lord’s Prayer As our Savior taught us, so we pray In this manner ; (Matt 6:9-13 NKJV)
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
When to say the Lord's Prayer: Most Christian congregations say the prayer during their worship service. Many people say the Lord's Prayer daily. The truth is, you can say the prayer when ever and wherever you like. Some people say it when they are feeling lost, without purpose, or disconnected. It's a good way to re-focus.
A Benediction Prayer: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.Amen.”[Colossians 3:15-17]
The benediction prayer is usually said at the end of Worship service. There are several different benedictions.
O gracious and holy Father, give us wisdom to perceive you, diligence to seek you, patience to wait for you, eyes to behold you, a heart to meditate upon you, and a life to proclaim you, through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Benedict of Nursia (c.550)
